Specials needs intern being vilified and bullied for standing up against abuse of children

Jenny McCarthy Body Count

Jenny McCarthy Body Count
Yes, the vapid little goofball that all the jocks used to jerk off to has now graduated to instilling fear of legitimate medicine and contempt for those with autism.  This site tracks the morbidity and mortality associated with failure to vaccinate children.  McCarthy believes that not only is autism something that can be cured like a disease, but that she alone holds the keys to do so.  She also, to the contrary of every scrap of evidence, believes that vaccines cause autism.  I urge you to read over this site as well as StopJenny.com for more information about this monster.  Pass it along.  Show people what she is.

I do believe sadly it’s going to take some diseases coming back to realize that we need to change and develop vaccines that are safe. If the vaccine companies are not listening to us, it’s their fucking fault that the diseases are coming back. They’re making a product that’s shit. If you give us a safe vaccine, we’ll use it. It shouldn’t be polio versus autism.

Michael Savage can kiss my autistic ass

Michael Savage has decided to weigh in on the subject of autism, and has done so with his usual panache, grace and careful attention to the facts.

“Now, you want me to tell you my opinion on autism, since I’m not talking about autism? A fraud, a racket…I’ll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent? They don’t have a father around to tell them, ‘Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.”

I sincerely do believe in free speech, and it’s people like this who push my conviction to the breaking point. But, happily, I find myself still firmly resolved to my principles. I do not believe somebody should summarily be yanked off the air for saying something that a group of people may find offensive, a la Don Imus. That being said, if Michale Savage lost all his sponsors, I wouldn’t shed a tear. For some mysterious reason, the article includes contact information for all of Michael Savage’s sponsors, and his network. Weird.

Death to the diseased!!!

Well, now here is one heaping helping of Prime USDA Certified Grade A American BULLSHIT!

First of all, the girl in the story doesn’t actually have autism. She has a rare metabolic condition, which has allegedly been aggravated by thimerosal. Subsequently, she has manifested behaviors on the autistic spectrum. That’s not the same thing as being autistic, and this is extremely reckless fear-mongering journalism. These people should be ashamed of themselves, as should Sen. John McCain for his recent claims that “there’s strong evidence” that thimerosal causes autism. John McCain is not a scientist, the court that handed down this decision are (likely) not scientists, either. They’re all a bunch of fear-mongerers. I suppose I shouldn’t expect any better from McCain, since it’s seemed to be his main platform for a while.

People are going to read this drivel and not get their children vaccinated for real threats. The thimerosal has been out of childhood vaccines since 2001. And there is no evidence whatsoever that it did cause autism while it was present in the vaccines.

Moreover, I’m sick and tired of autism being treated as a disease that must be irradicated. I have a condition called Asperger’s Syndrome, which is a form of autism. It is part of who I am, it is not a disease to be cured, it is not a tumor to be cut out of my brain, it’s me. If others cannot accept people who are different, that is their damn problem and they can go fuck themselves.

Fuck you, Jenny McCarthy for not loving your son as he is and trying to mold him into the perfect little social robot. Fuck you, Don Imus for trumpeting the bogus hypothesis that thimerosal causes autism. And fuck all the trash TV shows like “Oprah” and “Larry King Live” who have given airtime to this pseudoscience drivel.

If you’d like to read a good article about autism, check out this one from the latest edition of Wired magazine. Sorry it’s a PDF. That’s the best I could find on short notice. As always, Wrong Planet is my favorite Asperger’s site.
